Warehouse Clerk, Shipping/Receiving

Positions availability: Open until filled

Qualifications: Responsible for the receiving, stocking, storing, filling or shipping of incoming product. Experienced in all areas of warehouse operations.

Responsibilities:
* Unloads all incoming freight from common carriers, delivery trucks, etc.
* Notates damage and piece count when applicable.
* Verifies receipts against purchase orders.
* Advises purchasing department of shortages and overages.
* Stocks all goods in appropriate in-bin locations.
* Assists in physical inventories.
* Processes customer returns on a daily basis.
* Provides daily receiving and stocking reports.
Shipping:
* Process all shipments through manifest systems.
* Schedules shipments for common carriers and local delivery.
* Accurately records all pieces and weight for each shipment.
* Ensures shipments are addressed correctly.
* Assists in picking and packing.

Employee Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
Industry: Warehouse - Distribution
Base Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 Per Hour

Warehouse Job Description

A warehouse job requires skills in organization, focus on detail, and a fantastic memory - regardless of the software application a business runs.

Material goods may need to be stored for long periods of time, resulting in some inventory shuffling to create space, and thus a great memory is key. Organization skills and attention to detail are helpful when it comes to implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures. An inventory control job may require a high school diploma or higher level of education.

College courses may be required depending on the scope of an inventory control job description. An APICS certification such as a CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional), or an OSHA Forklift Operators Certification may be needed depending on the nature of the job. Experience with equivalent inventory control procedures in a similar environment may also be required.
